1968L FIA Grp2 : The quest has started (reloaded).

    Dear all,

I would like to thank you. Thank you for all the sweet dreams you have inspired me with all your wonderful cars, projects and parts.

I have made huge mistakes in the Porsche world since 2009 when I bought my 1st one. Those steps have educated me. However one 911 was always on top, on 911 I am still dreaming of, one 911 I would desperatly love to own.....not possible to get one of the genuine ones : too rare, too expensive. : 1968 911 L group2 FIA

I have 2 times tried to buy project 911 shell to start building a replica, no joy as twice it could not get to the end of the purchase (shy). Then dropped and bought another Porsche instead, and got disapointed.

So late 2013 I bought a 2.7 1976 in a bad shape and decided to rebuild it fully from headlights to engine. I did it all. Sad thing is that the engine broke down after only 3000 Kms. It took me too much energy and time (short delay)but the result is great.

I decided to sold it. now sold.

I still have my nice Caymans S to drive, but not what I am fond of. I have also sold my MG 1972.

Now room in the garage with these 2 empty spaces, tons of knowledge aquired, and some (not a lot of) money saved.

    The time has come.

Again, I am looking for a 911 1968 L (or normale if I can't find a L) rolling shell that can be restored and looks like a 911 still . Clean Title (no salvage).
I will restore, modify the car as appropriate, so no need to send concourse. No Sunroof.
I'll ask for a PPI (if not in Europe) and will ask for details, pictures etc..
A long journey ahead, which will get lot of energy and money and patience.

    Xavier

If you're looking for a donor shell, then this one could be a good start. '68 912. EUR 21,800.

My Uncle may be selling his 1968 911 Vintage Race car (#2). Chassis #11835207 It has the numbers matching engine separately, but the race motor (2.0L race prepped with weber carbs) is from an actual 1967 911S. #2 was raced for years in California, it was also in Excellence magazine years ago. It should sell ~$75k or more. Its a great car, no rust or sunroof.

focusing on a 68 T, looks nice and perfect for the project (then T/R) - will have a PPI soon. A pre-ppi has been done by a fellow member and give me the right coaching.
Found some inspiration this week end :
