Congratulations Xavier. Enjoy it! Coincidentally...Popped to Bicester on Sunday for the "Scramble", must say it improved since I was last up there. Hope you got a chance to look around the site? Some interesting niche complementary automotive businesses coming together on this the former Cold War airbase. Particularly enjoyed chatting to the enthusiastic chap who only does magnetos -- more or less opposite the Porsche Classic newly opened place in old fire point. Also looked in on the new outfit where I think you snapped those early 911s.

    Best

Yesterday I took ownership (or maybe the opposite) of "SHE" - Robert Barrie (the seller) was very nice and kind: picked me up again at the airport (London Heathrow), prepared the car, discussed about details etc.. offered me help as I had issue with my mobile phone (with Steve another very gentle person) etc.. etc.. (some of you may find that a must, but it is not nowadays).
Paperwork done, now got the keys. WOW. Cannot believe it.

I take lot of time trying to fix my phone pb, a bit to time consuming, had to rush now. I say goodbye to the folks there (Robert and "Big" Steve) and start to drive.
Oh Lord, what a blast - this is unbelievable the 911 touch/handling has a common soul from all generations - of course a SWB could be considered as pure and a 991 very sophisticated, but there is something they share, all generations are sharing.

However, I cannot drive through the countryside as am late on my timetable, so am using the motorway. The short gears are not really best for but "SHE" is doing well. Rain appears and wipers are not aim to move a bit. I increase the speed though
I am now at Bicester Heritage to pick up my frame from Amy Shore, but the receptionist cannot find it. Again spending time searching and finally got it. Then I try to find a mecanic that could assist me in fixing the wipers. I recommend to stop by CPE (Classic Performance Engineering) - Martin is so nice and fixed the wipers. Time flies and I cannot miss the shuttle to get back to France: motorway again. Do not have even the proper time to discuss with the Mark from Sport Purpose shop there. 261 miles done.
Now am in Arras, France for a stop. still have 300 miles to go to Magny-Cours F1 track to attend the Classic Days and celebrating the Porsche 70th anniversary.
    More to come.

I find it a little surprising when even 'good' guys like Robert send a car off knowing the wipers don't work. One should expect at least the basics to work. Not like you were driving off into Arizona, this is England!!
