But man my eye is twitching at the half repaint...I'd have to have it completely done
Please post more pics; looking forward to that Okrasa motor !
Yes, the blend of the painted repair areas with the OG 61yr old patina definitely divides opinions.

my caravelle turned 30 today....i bought it 20 years ago from the 1st owner with 97000km on the odo...now 370000km( gasoline engine ) ...first paint(green)...minus driver door and fender..but respray is +20years old so paint has faded and matches the factory paint. only one oil change ever since i got it.

bought a `93 multivan( colour change dark blue -will go back to its original jamaika-blue) and an other `91 caravelle(smoke-blue met.) this week...still looking for a nice california(short nose and funky colour only)

    1971 VW Beetle

I know, not particularly rare, but I like a car with a story. I just bought this from the original owner in Eastern WA. Original WA title / Dealer BOS / Window sticker / Original paint / Original glass. Headliner is gorgeous. It does have a couple of bruises, but it's dry as a bone.

Pretty cool, @beaker. Brings back memories. When I took Driver Ed in high school (would have been summer of '72), the cars were all loaned to the school district by local dealers. Most of the kids got to drive things like Dodge Darts and Ford Mavericks. I got "lucky" and drew a VW Bug. Complete with the very "sporto-like" automatic stick shift. Not exciting, but way better than a Maverick or Dart with a six and slush box.
