1976 911 S with 89 3.2 - new mid year to drive and improve mildly

Found this neat 76S a week or so ago. Second owner for the last twenty years. Newly rebuilt 89 3.2 Carrera engine along with a 915 from an 86. Light yellow. Owner says this is the original interior with the blue and black sport seats and blue carpets. I have never seen this combination before -- any one seen something similar?

Flying out to Seattle in a few weeks to get it and then driving home via Hwy 20 to Twisp, Okanogan, Spokane, Moscow, ID, Lolo Pass and then home.

Will post pictures of the drive home.

Have the exact same carpet (NLA) in a 81SC. Porsche dark blue. Different to the earlier dark blue as seen in the Carreras, that is almost black. i would look at the seats and surfaces to see if they have been dyed black
    Early sport seats: $$

Thanks Huge, appreciate knowing about your SC and the Porsche dark blue. I will check out the seats/surfaces once I get to see the car in person.

Al Kosmal picked it up for me today, drove it home via Chuckanut, said it performs just fine!

Seems like brakes and suspension are fairly new but pretty much stock, upgrades in those area likely to be the first in line of the upgrades.

From the seller's write up of last week.

1976 Porsche 911 S sunroof coupe with a re-manufactured 1989 3.2L Bosch Motronic fuel injection engine. VIN # 911 620 2063. One of the last of lightweights. One of the last 1976 cars built before the 1977 model changeover, this car has gone 132,000 miles; all but 24,000 miles in southern California. I have owned the car for 20 years, the previous owner for 15 years. Just about every wearing part has been replaced since I bought the car. The 3.2 L Bosch Motronic engine was installed approximately 5000 miles ago from a 57,000-mile 1989 Carerra and completely re-manufactured approximately 2000 miles ago by professionals. Stock 3.2L engine electronics. Five-speed manual 915 transmission rebuilt with new bearings, bushings, synchros and seals less than 1000 miles ago. Turbo 930 steering wheel (an original available of 1976-77 vintage). Front fender-mounted Carrera oil cooler with thermostat. Polished Fuchs wheels. New rear tires, fronts as shown in pictures. Refurbished original sports seats (new webbing and some panels). New headliner. No cracks in the dash cover. Swing out rear windows. Upgraded two-arm window winder mechanisms. New seals in front and rear windows. Bosch halogen headlights. Includes driving lights and switch not installed. New clutch assembly. Koni struts and shocks. Few miles on torsion bars, front suspension bushings, CV joints, engine mounts, master cylinder. Resurfaced brake rotors, new pads, rebuilt calipers, rebuilt pedal cluster, heavy-duty front hood struts. Always garaged. Stored winters. Never taken out in the rain, but I've been caught out once or twice. No rust. No sign of collision damage. Original Porsche Light Yellow paint except engine cover repainted after being closed too hard before my time, and I recently had the front bumper and air-dam re-painted when removing rock-chips. One coin-size ding in front trunk lid from a shifting internal load. A couple of barely visible parking-lot dings in the doors. Original owner’s manual, jack and mostly complete tool kit. Service documentation. This a fun driving 911.

Ran out of time this month to go retrieve the S, had it trucked instead. It's a nice driver. 3.2 gives it some punch!IMG_20180509_175328_571.jpg

Congrats, had a very similar car a few years ago, on the long list of cars I should have never sold, enjoy!
