Offered for sale is a largely original and honest 1967 911 “S”. Unlike many of the 911 “S” examples that have been “discovered” and “restored”, 308278S is a 67S that has never been disassembled and reassembled as part of a “restoration”. One must wonder, how much of the cars that are currently offered are actually a 1967 911S? This car has never had any rust repair or damage repair. This car has only had one repaint performed on it in 1985. The interior is largely original including carpets, seats and dash. This car is fitted with the correct date coded 4.5 x 15” Fuchs wheels. New and correct 165R-15 tires are fitted to these wheels.

The engine starts right up and idles smoothly with no smoking or stuttering. The correct and original aluminum case engine does not leak any oil. The engine was freshened up over time by the previous owner who kept the car for 43 years. The previous owner also fitted modern 12 bolt valve covers and cam carriers. The original 6 bolt units are included in the sale for originality.

The 901 transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. Clutch take up is sure and confidence inspiring. The suspension has benefited from new Koni Orange shocks and strut inserts, along with newer factory bushings. The suspension is tight and firm.

We a photocopy of the original Cardex showing matching engine number and transmission number. We have an original bill of sale when the car was sold from owner #2 to owner #3 showing the purchase price in 1975. We have a nice reproduction tool kit. We have the original jack.

We contacted PCNA and provided to them the Engine and Transmission numbers. They sent a Certificate of Authenticity confirming engine and transmission numbers. We have the original Porsche Crested Leather Key bag along with a number of original keys, including the original Hirschmann antenna key. The original Blaupunkt radio is fitted. 308278S is Finished in Polo Red and is optioned with Antenna, Loudspeaker, Tinted Glass, Rallye Kit and Becker 3 Band Radio.

This is an excellent and largely original example of an early 911 “S” model that deserves serious consideration for the collector that wants an iconic car that can be driven and enjoyed. Pre purchase inspections at our Powell Ohio facility is welcome during business hours.

Values on early 911's like this vary all over the board. Excellent Concours Restored examples sell for $240k. Offered at $185,000 Interesting trades considered.
