    1972 oil tank sources

    Hello,

I need to change my 1972 911 oil tank, and the price difference vs vendors is huge 44% between original Porsche and Others. I am based in Europe (Germany) so European sources would be better for me.

Has anybody tested for quality the Porsche oiltanks offered by CarPoint in Karlsruhe Germany?. https://www.carpoint.de/ersatzteile/...dell-1972.html

Any other source tested and proven OK for oil tanks? Sierramadre, 911design, Stoddards?

    Thanks!!

I wonder if Marek, on this board, isn't the source for all of them ??

We have purchased a few of these tanks. They fit well, but the metal is thinner than oem. Other than that, very nice ! Carpoint was our source

I bought one of their tanks and was surprised to find a good amount of filler on it (my guess is this if for cosmetic reasons). I have yet to fit it as I am on the fence whether or not to have it copper plated locally ( to provide internal corrosion protection similar to factory).

Here are a few photos showing what I found; Overall a very nice tank, re-examining the other night, I will end up using this tank as is and work to restore/re-plate my original in time.

    Hope this helps,

    Andrew
