    The engine number on this car is interesting. My car has engine 4080023, and while I realize they pulled #s out of order, did the '68 cars have a second digit as "1" ?

    the 418xxxx cars were sportos
    the 1 in the second digit was for sporto
    also there was a 2 for emission control engines and 3 for sporto emission control engines but I presume they were for the US market and would not be a 428 "S" engine but more likely a 328 one on USA L cars
