T Oil Gauge Mystery

HI,

I have two 'T' spec oil gagues, unfortuanlty dates aren't visible. Both serial numbers are 911 641 104 00. As you can see from the photos, one has a symbol above the bottom window, the other does not. I am not sure excactly what this symbol is? I am also keen to understand which one is the correct gague for a 1971 911T, German Delivery?

They look like 911 641 103 00 T oil gauges, one with the handbrake symbol and one without.

I think the 911 641 103 00 you mentioend is the one that has the oil pressue readout. These are the 911T spec, 911 641 102 00 (sorry the number mentioend above was for somethign else), without the pressure (Druck) readout.

I am trying to find out which one of the above is correct for a 3/71 911T i.e. the one with the symbol or the one without?

The symbol looks more like a oil symbol than a park brake (which I believe is a B on cars other than a 911T)

Yes, I meant 911 641 102 00 , 103 and 104 are the S Versions with the pressure readout.
The symbol mention is the brake symbol, 28.03.73 this symbol changed to a B.

I think the US ones hadn't this symbol on the T gauge, but not sure

Does the bottom section light up with the park brake on? I thought this area was a blank, i.e. where a pressure gauge might have been?

Yep, if I do recall it correctly there has been a gauge with the "big" parking-brake light. But you should be able to tell simply by looking at the contacts on the back of the gauge ;-)

Does anybody happen to know if the is Euro versus US spec difference or is it a date thing?

The handbook should show you a picture of the gauge. So you will need to look at a RoW and US handbook.

I think this is the symbol for oil temperature warning of a Sportomatic version ?

The sporto had a numerical gauge with a red warning light built into the hottest numerical reading, much like the low fuel light.
