    More thermostat questions

I have two thermostats. One is 248.83.00 and 243.83.00A with the center bar, (alignment bar?). They both seem to start opening around 175 degrees and are fully open at 195 degrees. On cool down the valve has fully reversed itself at the same 175 degrees. . Was the center bar to keep the center piece in alignment or for other reasons?
There is a new part number, 930.107.765.00. Visually it appears to be like 243.83.000A. Any other changes?

Chris, the bar you see is the result of cutting openings in the piston. It doesn't matter how the piston is positioned inside the thermostat housing.
Yes, there were different versions of the thermostat. Early versions had threaded caps, and opened from the top.
