    Best transmission for a 68 SWB 912

As the title states. I am in need of a transmission for my 68 912. What would be the best trans for a 912 motor? I gave mine to a buddy bc it was not no’s. match to my car so didn’t matter and he was in need. Now I need to find a replacement. Would a 915 work vs the 901? Are all 901’s the same? I have a friend who has offered me a 902/1 5spd. I have another friend that has offered me a 901 not sure of variant. I was told the 912 came with a 901 gearbox with gears AFMSX. Thx for the help. Mark,

For a 912 motor, you need a transmission designed for a push-type clutch, and it needs to match the axles you have or plan to use.
Your 912 originally had a 902 4-speed or 5-speed transmission. With stock 68 axles, any pre-69 901 or 902 transmission with Löbro axle flanges will work.
