    Targa Torsion Bars ?

    Guys
Debating which front torsion bars to go with ...remember it’s a 70S targa.
Existing were 22F 26R ...seem way stiff for a targa.
    Would trade for 19F 23R ?
    Interested in thoughts
    Thanks

Don't know whether its relevant, but Porsche originally fitted Boges instead of Konis because of ride quality on Targas. Don't know about torsion bar size and what they changed by 1970. I know they revised the body reinforcement plates several times.

Most of what I have read suggest that the Boge is best for normal driving.
As well as stock torsion bars....hey it’s a targa not a coupe .
Spirited driving at best but no auto-cross and Midwest is basically flat.
My point was that the 22/26 that we’re on the car are shown to be for R, ST or RS on later 2.7 & 3.0 engines.

22 is way to stiff for the front, I think the original 19's are fine for the front. You can go a bit stiffer at the rear 24.5 as on the later cars or even stick with your 26 and see how they behave.
I've used Koni on the front, the adjustable gas which I believe are now discontinued. I wouldn't be afraid of the Bilstein HD at the front and sport at the rear.

On an S you should have anti toll bars front and rear unless they have been removed

    FWIW:

I have 21 mm front/26 mm rear (i.e. Turbo Torsion) bars with adjustable 19 mm sways at each end. For shocks I have Bilstein HD front and Bilstein Sport rear. I have a nice street ride and a great setup for Autocross.
