    Hallo Bob,
do you know up to which VIN it was silver? I just galvanized the script for 2485 in gold.
Was it also silver at the engine lid?

    Kind regards.

Anke, there seems to be a changing of colors with the 912 model being added.

The 911 emblem on the Glove box lid up till Spring/Summer 1965 looks to have been silver, the rear Porsche was always Gold. And the rear 911 emblem was not even used early on.

The 912 model line had silver exterior emblems (we will have to ask the 912 board what color the dash emblem was).

The 911 (I'm guessing at about car #302 000) had all three, glove box, rear Porsche and 911 emblems in gold.

    Hope this helps.

Remember very early cars '64's and very early 65's didn't have emblem on glovebox at all.
Maybe Bob67S knows when the cut off was.
