    Correct 70 oil line colour...

My 70S has previously had a repaint (same as delivery colour) and the oil lines running up behind the RH fender wing join panel is also body colour.
Question - were the oil lines in this area originally black or body colour?

I would assume they would be body color, as they had to be installed before paint.

Thanks Ed, that was my assumption too, but when I sanded back a portion it revealed brass/primer/red/black/red. The second red was the repaint, but I'm not sure what the black layer would have been. I'm wanting to exclude the possibility that Fritz & Hans (the handpainting team that brushed all the strut towers, door edges and battery boxes) didn't hand paint them black.

Anyone out there with an original examples of these pipes?

It might come down to what color were they when installed, natural brass, or at least a coat of black paint?
