on a 1972 911 (and presumably all early 911's), there are 2 wires from the back of the instrument panel that attach to the master cylinder contacts for the master cylinder warning light.

My car didnt have this part of the wiring present when i bought it so i have no idea how the wires make their way between the gauge and the master cylinder.

The 2 obvious solutions seem to be
1. Run it alongside the steering shaft but i would think that is not sensible as it could catch on the steering shaft UJ's.
2, Run it through the front deck in the luggage compartment via the hole where the rear wiring harness comes through and then exit through a bulkhead hole at the back of the pedal box which is close to the master cylinder

Any help on the correct routing would be welcome. As i write this, i am thinking it must be (2) but in photos of other cars, i cant see evidence that there are any extra wires alongside the rear wiring harness as it comes through the front deck in the luggage compartment.

thanks

Andrew
