    Oil tank restoration

    Hi,

I have an oil tank that I would like to tidy up prior to reinstalling. Pair is a flakey.

I would appreciate any tips on how to beat go about a strip and repaint.

    Thanks!

I had mine hot tanked at a local radiator place, came out nicely back to copper base, then just repainted satin black.

I made a chemical paint removal and a chemical rust removing.
Actually it is in the powder Coating shop.
Tomorrow when I got it back, I will protected the inside with a Special gun rust protection.

    Powder coat?

How did you prevent them from getting blasting media inside?

Frank, threaded holes I locked with a screw. For the oil gauge I turned an Aluminium plug and the rest of the holes are locked with temperature stabil tape.
We did this with a 3,0l SC tank with sucess. And then flushing with fuel.
Today I will receive the tank back...let`s see.

Today I got the tank back. No dirt inside. I flushed it and "rust protected" it with Motul V300.
