    Original Key Numbers / Barrels

    Hello,

I have the key number on my kardex but the key number on my actual key is different by 1 digit?
I havent removed the Ign/barrel but wondered if the barrels actually have the key numbers embossed
    anywhere?

I'm trying to destinguish what key number to order either the one on the key or on the kardex?
Ive noticed you can sometime get Porsche NOS key blanks but cannot buy one until i know the series.

    Any thought here?

    thanks Lee

Sorry: I actually did not answer your question..... Yes if you take the ignition switch out of the dash , it should have the number scribed on it …. sorry

Check both doors, the K # is hand written with an electric pen, it's on the lever in back of the push button. Might need a good cleaning so you can see it. Also a lock could have been changed over the years for some reason.

I'm not about to take my doors apart to check, so I'll file that bit of info if needed. BTW, an unsolicited testimonial for Tony Euganeo (610) 461-0519. After 41 years it finally dawned on me that I did not have a spare ignition/door key for my 1969. Called Tony at 1030 hours on Friday (09/14) to gave him the number from the original key. New key was waiting in my POB before Noon on Monday (09/17). Key works perfectly in all locations.
