    Question - original targa material ?

    Guys
    Restoring 70S targa and showing photo of Orignal material that wrapped the inner/underside of front windshield frame. Also set next to the Orignal material is what is suppose to be new German vinyl .
    The texture looks wrong and the gauge of material Is thicker.
    Can Orignal owners comment on material.
    Also there are 3 separate pieces for this cover ....my Original photos show they were separate and overlapped....supposedly the correct is a sewn seam joining each piece.
    Which is correct?

    I've had Dan Petchel redo several Targa tops, among them my 71 T. He offered a choice, original smooth vinyl or longer lasting later textured material. I opted for the later stuff.

    Thanks for note and info....Dan restored the removable top for this targa a few months ago.
    I will reach out to him .
    Also did you sew the 3 pieces ( center, right & left ) at the underside and vertical pieces windshield pillar or glue separate with overlap ?

    I guess I didn't read this properly, thought you were asking about top material. I can take pictures of my 71 targa windshield frame and material, I think there are some sewn joints, but it won't be until I get back from RR 6. I'm sure someone will post something before then.
