    4 Screw horn grilles

Do the 4 screw horn grilles use the top rubber infill?

My interpretation of the PET says no.

Also I have tried to look carefully at restoration pictures of early cars e.g. Willhoit website, and they seem to be sans any gasket/infill piece at the top of the horn grille?

What year? The PET shows the same number (911 559 439 00) for both pre and post 72 cars. I would guess they go behind the grill so that you do not see them, but some confirmation would be great seeing as I'll be installing them in the future, too.

a very good questions...just had a look at pics of very original 4 screw cars and as far as one can tell from pics there is no infill.
or lets put it the other way round i don`t have a proof there is one.
