Have always a Fire ext. in my 911 - bought a 2kg FIA spec from Oreca.
2kg is not enough to stop, but enough to run away from the fire.

Ill get halotron probably, altho u can still use halon in certain instances

"While the production of Halon ceased on January 1, 1994, under the Clean Air Act, it is still legal to purchase and use recycled Halon and Halon fire extinguishers. In fact, the FAA continues to recommend Halon fire extinguishers for aircraft."

    Element.
    Very impressive claims about performance
I don't want to be the one to test it, though.
This is in my 71 911
    Check it out on ELEMENTFIRE.com

One important point too: think about where to put it, it has to be very handy/quick to catch, seconds matter.

Jim, I used one yet on one of my previous 911, and thank God, it saves the car (and me) as I was able to grab it fast.

If you can legally use Halon, then get it. If you're caught in Germany with a Halon extinguisher in your car you'll lose your driving license and get a porper fine to pay as it is an illegal transport of hazardous goods. (that's why they are at home in the Garage)
Do not use any cheap powder extinguisher - let it rather burn and go for the Insurance.

Element fire extinguisher is very competent, long lasting, and does no damage...

Mine is very easily accessed. It is held in by clips and you just grab it and go. I bought the factory roll bar mount and installed it in a couple of minutes.
