    Possible rear wiper car?

    I have a 1972 with a trunk lid for a rear wiper.
Would all 1972 trunk lids have this provision?

Where on dash would be the rear wiper knob?
Would a non wiper car have a dash hole with a cap in it if not wiper equiped?

I have a COA but they are sometimes useless.

Take a look inside the tunnel at the rear, where the gear linkage connects to the transmission. There might be a separate wire loom for the rear wiper! It is separate from the main loom. Also, all deck lids in that year range had the port for the rear wiper, weather used or not. ....cliff

The rear wiper knob for a 73 is located above the ignition, in a vertical position. It's a small switch with the traditional shape. The wiring tip is also good, it is friction taped to main harness in the tunnel. G

1...My 73 T has the provisions for a rear window wiper on the engine lid, even though it was not factory stalled in my car, (see photo) the 2 round holes are for the bellcrank assembly for either RHD or LHD cars. The factory did offer a rear window wiper "Kit" at the time, so anyone could install it after the the car was built...

2...The switch placement, depending on who installed it, could be in different locations.

3...I don't think a switch hole would be in it, if it was not a factory installed wiper car...My 73 T has no hole in the dash (early factory location shown on TRA-21).

I have enclosed the Factory TRA 19-22, instructions for the addition of the rear wiper, If you have the COA or Kardex the code for a rear wiper is M425, 73 model year. Hope this helps...e

    Hm

Went back and had a look at my lids

    1), 2), and 3) --- alu lid from Karmann-built 911E ('70 or '71?) . . . no external hole for the wiper arm actuator to protrude, but underneath? . . . bungs for both!

    4) thru 8) --- steel lid from rear-wiper-equipped (per Kardex) '70 car . . . same-same --- except the left-side bung has been opened for the actuator to pass thru

Never noticed this before = very cool!
