Magnesium case for Porsche Historic Racing.

I am involved with vintage/historic Porsche racing. As has been said above, original engine cases are still quite available, and I cannot imagine that a repro engine case would be permitted by any vintage/historic sanctioning body. I recently built out a 911 racing engine, and I was required to use original Weber carbs, which are still plentiful, rather than PMOs, which would have been a lot cheaper, even though there is no real performance difference. I also have to wonder about demand; I see very few early 911s on the racing grids anymore.

That is for sure. I hold an FIA international class C license. i tend to doubt those engine cases would be allowed by the FIA; their rules are much stricter than those of North American sanctioning bodies.

Being you OP'd 18 months ago what do you believe the time frame is that you could have a 'sanctioned' engine approved?
Or is that an 'approved' engine sanctioned ?
I cannot wait to see this on the dyno.
