    1967 cowl pipe replacement

    Hi
    My cowl pipe (pipe that takes water from the fresh air box scuttle down through the drunk by the vin number) has rotted away NLA at Porsche any ideas if it is availble elsewhere?

    All info greatly appreciated

    Won't help much but I bent new one using rotted original as template, pretty simple job. I don't think its available anywhere.

    did you bend 20mm steel to that tight radius?

    No, tight ones I did by cutting many many cuts to app 50% of diameter and then bend and carefully weld. You need multiple cuts per radius to get it smooth. From outside its absolutely impossible to see after welds are finished properly.

    It can be bend also but you'd need proper pipe bender with buck, those 100$ ones would just flatten it.
    I did search this tube a lot but my method was much simpler and cleaner I could had hoped for.

    Ask Restoration Design. They will make one for you, and have it on their site shortly there after. They have all the tubing, they just need to fab up a bending jig.
