    Yes, Jim, I am aware of the difference for the '72 faceplate.

    One could possibly argue that since my car is a rather early '72 (8/71 production) that it could well have had a '71 radio installed at the factory.

    Possibly.

    Or one could decide that this one is close enough, and go for a drive instead of worrying about it.
