Huge improvement ! Don’t declare victory without the gasket in there.

Blinker gasket is in there, Horn grille's isn't. Headlight is crooked.

No pics, but tech question: I have made a larger order for parts, including adjustable Konis, and i get conflicting info about their installation in front.: Do they need oil in the strut around them when installing? What oil?

Yes, Oil is to prevent rust and helps with heat dissipation. Regular engine oil will do.

Progress, a good thing. If you have not installed rear spring plates and set ride height before, patience is your best friend. You really can't set the ride height until the motor is in, but your first spring plate angle will get you close.
I am sure some other posters can tell you what spring plate angle for your personal desired ride height. I would guess you don't want stock USA, nor do you want a low rider. I think you did the 3.0 Carrera now that I remember.

It will be stock ride height, minus max 2 cm.
I am not there yet (car is still bare steel) but I figure, an hour done is an hour closer to the finished product. I also use this suspension as a training run to do the same bushings in the '84 Cabrio later on this year.
I wanted to fit the struts' balljoints, but I got the wrong ones (for pinch bolts, not wedge), oh well.
I also wanted to fit the Koni cartridges in the Koni struts, but I came to the realisation that the ones I have are too ugly to refit. So, sanding, cleaning and painting is in the plans now.
I also still have the steel pins/balls to weld in the rear trailing arms for an anti-roll bar, but from what I read, I'd better wait to have the suspension on the car to determine the correct position before drilling the steel arms.
