    Toolkit 1969 911E

    Dear,

I own a 1969 911 E from 1969, produced in 1968 November. Did my car came with a toolkit with the basketweave structure or with the elephant hide toolkit from 1968?

    Thanks for helping me.

    Best regards,
    Cedric Winters

Neither. Smooth vinyl with tan interior. Everything else the same as the 70-73 toolkits with the exception of the screwdrivers which had slightly more bulbous handles.

Thank you for your answer. Is it possible to send me a picture of the right toolbag please?

Dear, thanks for your answer. Why is everybody talking about the 69-73 toolkit as the basketweave toolbag?

    Best regards,
    Cedric

    Cedric:

I can’t answer your question about baskerweaves except to say that the official Porsche PET parts catalog for the 1969 911 lists the toolroll part # as 644-721-010-01, which is the smooth vinyl bag.

The smooth vinyl is correct. We had our toolkit stolen so it took me a while to find the correct bag. People tend to lump 69 in with 70-73 but there are many differences that are 1 year parts only (such as the dash top) or parts shared with 68 (sun visors, engine grill, etc).
