Current fair price for Solex 40PI carbs is what?????

I have two sets of good Solex 40PI cores & would like fair market value assuming they are in fact good cores for rebuilding. Currently they are in the Classified section at $7K (less two main venturis) & $6.5K (less throttle cross bar). Both have restored manifolds in black chromate (I gave up on the OEM silver-ish chromate as it is devilishly difficult to replicate).

I know of a recent sale of 40PIs for $8K.

I want to sell and not look at them for too much longer.

I have Weber cores as well...plenty of them; from early 1966 through 1971; by year model & type.

    Paul,
Supply appears to be on par with demand regarding cores. They don't come up for sale often but apparently not many buyers either. Given the current backlog, business practices of some current rebuilders, and the fact that YOU ARE THE BEST IN DA BIZ, if I were you I would be inclined to rebuild them and sell for retail.

Thanks for the sage advice Frank.

Not sure I agree with "The Best in the Biz" since there are only two of us.

I sold some recently on here, I think eventual sale price was about $5K.
