Thread: Weld in exhaust pipes

    Weld in exhaust pipes

Finally up to the exhaust on my 7 years ST project car

Have a sports muffler with 2 side pipes which we will remove and I need to find a supplier for some new 70mm diameter weld in pipes
which will come out of the muffler to match the cut outs under the rear overiders, as can be seen in the pic.

Hopefully with some baffling inside them like I have seen on many sports purpose builds on these pages otherwise I fear it may be too loud

    Any clues please???

I have seen that protective tubes for front shock absorbers are used for this

    Hi Clyde,
how loud is ok for you.
At Eisenmann Exhaust Systems in germany they can deliver die RSR muffler in 4 types.
    78 db, 85 db, 98 db, 105db.
Do you have the openings in the stock position?
The 78 db is street legal in germany, the 85 db is great on the road. If you choose the 98 db it`s loud for a street car, but some guys drive it like this on german streets. Eisenmann Exhaust Systems delivers the muffler in the stock Porsche configuration for example to the Porsche museum itself. In america you could buy the muffler from IND.

    Hi Jurgen

Not too loud if possible we have 75 db as a street standard.

All good info but I have a danks sports exhaust already with the 2 out pipes, which we plan to remove and I am looking ONLY for the
pipes to weld into the centre part of the muffler, not a whole new muffler.

When I made my 'R' type muffler to exit under the bumper guard cut-out I just went to a local muffler shop and got a couple pieces of 2 1/2" pipe. I did have to cut holes in the end baffles to get a better opening to the new outlets.

Here is the real deal. Inlets and exhaust tips actually line up and with baffles in tips it's not to loud. G

    Gordon,

Is that the Dansk replica or a real one from a stash? Do you recall the center to center spacing on the pipes?
