I want to install an additional oil temp sensor...ideas?

    Hi All,

Have been trying to figure this out for some time now. Unsuccesfully.......Just installed a Megasquirt EFI system in my 69 911.

Because the ECU and the gauge need an oil temp sensor reading I first thought that they could share the sensor. This did not work because the resistance of the ECU pollutes the values and therefore the gauge gives the wrong reading.

Tried to solve this several ways but did not succeed. I finally decided to take the 'easy' road and and install a second temp sensor. Would love to install a 'T coupler' (don't know the correct term) which could be placed where the original sensor is mounted. This coupler would be able to house 2 sensors.

Does anybody know whether this is available or how it should be made. Any other ideas for placing the temp sensor is more than welcome. I prefer to use original locations because the engine has just been completely rebuild and I do not want to drill new holes in the engine.

    Appreciate the help.

    Regards, frank

    GREAT!!!!! THANKS!

How cool is that? Just the piece I was looking for. Just to make sure, this will have enough oil flowing to measure correctly, right?

I added a 30 lb. oil pressure switch to my track car motor with an adapter I got from ebay. They have them in a variety of threads, a temp sensor could be added instead of the pressure sensor.
