Wind noise A-pillar - How to fit this "bridge"-thingy?

My car always had annoying wind-noise coming from both of the A-pillars at speeds +80 km/h. Just when I thought I would have to live with it I noticed a tiny little detail in the parts catalogue:
    91153171100 ff. "Bridge"

As much as I foundout these plastic pieces go in the gap between the window frame and the actual door. Of course those are missing on my car.
But how are they fitted? Glued-in or only tight-fit squeezed in? I also read somewhere that those bridges weren't fitted to early cars. Instead some putty was used.
Can someone clarify on this (maybe with pictures)? I'd gladly appreciate some light shed onto this (satanic?) detail.
    Regards,
    Tom

I put them in my 73 with late door rubber, the tube type, and it worked great. The late ones require drilling a hole in the window frame to locate a plastic revet. I had to replace the drivers window frame in 85, and from Porsche, it came with the drilled hole. So I drilled the hole in the pass side frame so they would match. I packed dum-dum in the space behind the bridges, pushed it down and trimmed away what squeezed out. I thought it made a huge difference. I don’t have any pictures. G

Tube type seals were the reason for these from what I remember. I tried them once.... years ago.

I glued them in place with some trim adhesive.

Seem to be available directly from Porsche. A set of 4 is € 14'ish incl. VAT over here in GER. As much as I understand gled49's post above there is an early (glued?) and a late (riveted?) version. I guess the ones sold by Porsche are the late ones. Mine should arrive today or tomorrow. I'll let you know how they look.

@dirk07 was so kind to send me an excerpt from the "Werkstattbuch". Seems like those "ridge fillers" were only fitted from '74 onwards. They were glued and (as gled49 stated) later also riveted to the frame. Our earlies originally would have had just some putty/dum-dum fitted, I assume.

Mine has dum-dum (70T) on the drivers side and is almost silent. None on the passenger side and lots of wind noise.

Dum dum works well. Trial and error fit. Easy to manage.
