'71 911S Pedal Assembly: What Is This Switch For?

Restored my pedal assembly with new bushings powder coat etc...
It's been a while since that was done. Now trying to figure out what
this switch is for? It looks like it would serve a purpose... but it doesn't
seem to have contact with anything. Does anybody have a photo to
show if I am missing something on my cluster?? Please. ;o)
    Thank much.

    rear brake light switch
Yes, you are missing a large washer on the shaft that actuates the switch.

Hehe... I figured something like that.
Would anybody happen to have a phtoo of that washer??
Or the assembly with the washer in place?

The one large nut is hidden behind the washer,
And you are missing an important cotter pin too. (With another washer missing)

Awesome!! Thanks for spotting that. ;o) I hadn't quite finished assembling it all... since I figured
there was a part missing, that would make the switch work. SO hadn't put the washer & cotter pin
    back. Good eye! ;o)

    Thumbs up

    Nick,

After time (45+years) sometimes those bakelite switches brake right below the 2 hole mounting ear... ask me how I know...

I epoxied mine back together in a parking lot... It's still there today....
