    Caliper bolt spacing 1964-1973?

Looking for front and rear calliper bolt spacing differences from the early cars of 1964-1968 and then the 1969-1973.

Trying to learn when they went bigger and if any differences in the S and non S.

This will also help me learn strut differences

The front for most early cars up to about 1973 was 3". For the 911S in 1969 and those with Hydropneumatic front struts or Koni or Bilstein it was 3.5". The 911S caliper with 3.5" spacing was an option from 1969 in conjunction with the Koni or Bilstein struts.

For 1964 to 1968 the rears were 2.75" I believe, and used the L calipers; even the S. From 1969 the rears were 3".

so would a regular 1969-1973 front calliper fit on the front of a 1964-1968?

Yes, but rare to find a non-vented front caliper to fit the non-vented rotor on the early cars; except for the 911S with vented rotors. I am not certain of any caliper offsets that may screw this up. There were different hubs of varying thickness to suit the rotors and keep the rotors aligned within the calipers.
