    1967S rear view mirror assembly?

    I have a 1967S rear view mirror and stalk.

    how do you attach the ball on the stalk to the mirror housing?

    It can be a little scary to do considering the amount of force it might take, but it just presses in. Place the mirror on a flat surface, use both hands to push and voilą!

    Maybe try lightly heating up one piece (for pliabilities sake) and cooling down the other...

    I had mine apart for chrome on the stalk.

    I used some gentle heat from a heat gun, some silicone paste on the ball....and careful pressure.

    Done! Whew!
