    Adjusting MFI midrange mixture

What is the lever blocking access to the off idle mixture screw under the cap head screw on the one year only 1969 911S?

Is it the enrichment solenoid linkage?

Does the enrichment solenoid need to be removed to access the adjustment screw?

I thought maybe it was fork shaped to allow a very small screwdriver- but no dice.

It's actually blocking access to the load adjustment, not the idle. You back out the 14 mm hex bolt far enough to gain access to the rack adjustment. Nothing else is removed.

Thank you! That certainly makes sense now that I know the secret.

So I back out the 14 mm hex as shown in Mark's photo, slide the enrichment lever shaft outward, and then proceed as in the factory manual?

    You guys are great.

After bolt is backed out as pictured, remove Allen bolt between solenoids and the rack adjustment is in there. Long slender common blade screw driver required, keep track of clicks.

Thanks- that part is well documented.

This side bolt procedure is a mystery in CMA, all the Factory manuals I have, and Lee Rice's great essays.

I'm looking forward to getting to this today!

    Thanks everyone.
