Here is a 2.8 RSR oil cooler that ironically was on one of my 935s. The photos after the first six I deleted but they are still there. Disregard as a few of them are from the water intercooler that sits behind the horseshoe on a 1979 935

1974 Behr 23.014 Central front Oil Cooler...

Sadly no shiny blue shell photos to show as paint has taken a back seat of late due to work commitments however seam sealing and final prep has been completed and it will go in cooler soon.

In other news I had a massive stroke of good fortune in my quest to produce a front oil cooler.....I was hunting down an original cooler to check a few measurements when I was pointed to an engineering company that were in the process of re-coring an original 1974 23.014 cooler from a 3.0RSR. I explained what I was trying to do and fortunately they took a keen interest and offered to help although on the basis they produced the cooler from start to finish. It was too good an opportunity to pass up and being a highly respected motorsport and aviation company that have years of experience in classic motorsports, aviation fabrication and even F1, I knew was in safe hands and we agreed to move forwards.
Big thanks here to Olivier for his support to date, without his help and knowledge I would have never gotten to this point and time would show just how accurate and close his designs taken from photos were once new drawings had been produced. Cheers buddy

Moving on the plan was to produce correct end castings taken from CAD scans of originals, the advantage being that these were taken after the original cooler was dismantled and therefore accurate both externally and internally.....with the main cost involved being the production of moulds for the castings it made no sense to fabricate a single item and therefore I have commissioned and initial batch of 10 units. These will be motorsport quality coolers to the exact shape and dimensions of an original 74 Behr cooler and will also be finished in the original protective Aluchrom 407 finish which will give a greenish NOS appearance. Once complete I'll offer the remaining coolers for sale.

Work got underway with new drawings produced....

    End Casting.....

....with moulds manufactured by a leading UK pattern maker the end caps have now been cast and this week I received photos of the castings prior to machining work. They're an exact copy of originals.

Left side comparison next to originals....

....and the more important right side.....
