Perfection - as we have become used to in this thread. Awesome job Darren, and thanks for sharing.
Seeing there's an update on your project always adds a smile to my morning.

Thank Patrick, I appreciate the kind words.

It's been a lot of work and of course it was never the plan to start producing oil coolers but, as you well know, sometimes you have to improvise!

We had some R projects, needed a couple coolers so we made a dozen pairs of accurate repo bar and plate coolers. We started early, it still took a couple years, they were finished before the projects end. Your project looks great.

    Thanks Gordon,

Yes will be fitting a relief valve in the engine bay.

As you probably know the cooler valve is quite a simple thing and I'm told there's very little chance of it ever being needed and only in the event of a crimped pipe causing a surge etc.

I was able to obtain all the valve/spring dimensions etc from an original RSR cooler that was being re-cored and the springs were fabricated using the same wire thickness, number of coils and overall length....

    HTH.

    Cheers,

    Engine Coolness...

With the engine build soon to hit full throttle I've been collecting the final items needed for the build....

....I'd initially thought about fitting solid rockers although ultimately decided to fit Schrick adjustable racing rockers. Given the amount of road miles this car will do as well as track use I feel they're a sound choice and will help when it comes to maintenance.

These are forged CNC milled part used in many race engines, lighter and stronger with a DLC coating and an extended contact area between cam and rocker, they're ideally suited to race cams.

Still eye-wateringly expensive but damned cool and very sexy .....
