    turn signals not working

I'm hoping someone can give me some ideas.

I'm putting back together my '73S Targa. I got it as a non-running, partially apart, project. The turn signals are not working. Headlights work and flash; parking lights work; with key off the right side parking lights work with the turn signal switch set to right turn (as they should), and same for left lights. Lights flash as they should when Emergency switch engaged (flasher relay is new). But with key on, neither right or left turn signal lights flash. I have tried closing the circuit at the turn signal switch with jumper wires, no luck.

I have gone over wiring multiple times, compared to schematic, and have found nothing amiss. But I have to be missing something.

Could the turn signal/emergency relay be at fault, even though new? The Emergency part does work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Bob

There are some sold that do not work correctly. I always plug in a known good flasher unit. Maybe you can borrow one. From where did you get your current flasher, and what is the brand?

The unit is URO, purchased from Stoddard. I'll ask around and see if I can find a working unit to try.

    Thanks,

I had the same problem recently and found some used originals ones that worked, let me check I may have an original extra I can send to you to try.

I once mistakenly put brake light bulbs into the turn signal sockets which resulted in turn signal chaos (not a proud moment).

Turn signal bulbs have one black contact on the bottom, tail lights have two.

With the help of a retired Porsche mechanic, I tried a "known to be good" flasher relay, no change. The mechanic thinks that the hazard switch is defective, as it's to feed power to the turn signal switch, and does not.

So - new hazard switches are NLA - anyone have a good used one for sale?

    Thanks,
    Bob
