    Battery fitment...two down to one

This horse has been beat to death...I know. Yes lots of threads on this...and I have read them all...probably. I have narrowed my focus to a Deka 75 and an Oddyssey 925.
My concern is fitment in my 72 drivers' side battery box. The manufactures dimensions are way bigger than my battery box. But they list dimensions as "packaging" dimensions. Has anyone installed a 925 L in a 72? I have seen a lot of pics of them mounted in Porsches...but the later cars have more room than my little 72 battery box. If so would you mind forwarding me a picture? I like the AGM as I can mount it anyway I want...and I am likely going to order one with the + on the left side.
    TIA

I had to build shims behind the battery as it was too small. I chopped off the RH battery box for my oil cooler and ducting. Cranks like crazy, though. I stole this battery from my son's Comet Caleinte.

    PS: Highly recommended!

+1 I put the same in my 71, also some wood to space the battery out into the trunk area and give the posts / clamps some comfort room away from the top of the batt box & possible shorting. Very happy with that battery!

I put a pair of Miata AGM batteries in my '72. Those also require some shimming to mount adequately. While I went ahead and did both of them, I'm sure that a single Miata battery would be more than sufficient.

I put an Odyssey PC 925 in my '73 . I used an approximately 2" by 6" plastic block from McMaster Carr under the strap to hold the battery tightly , no shimming and no terminals to worry about .

I went with two Odyssey PC925s, but 1 would suffice I am sure. I used a cut piece of 2x4 on each side and one on the top ensure that the battery stays put and keeps the terminals clear of the top of the battery box. The 2x4 on the top means that standard strap works fine. No need to buy the $78 Patric Motorsport piece of metal. I do have a plan to make and paint some wood cases to put the Odysseys in that would look a bit more finished with decals or cut the white part of the Interstate 911 lead acid batteries I took out and make a more elegant case for the Odysseys. But life is interfering at the moment.

Probably a major break with purists but the Rennline relocate kit for the 925 in the smugglers box makes for a very tidy package (no affiliation)

Isn’t the 925 cranking amperage to low? I was about to purchase one this weekend, now I’m back in the forum for reassurance.

1968 911L, but swapped to a 2.7L fuel injected from a 76S. Is this enough battery?

Should be fine. My '84 Carrera 3.2 had a PC925 in it when I bought the car. Prior owner installed it 2 years prior to the sale. I drove the car for another 7 years, battery worked fine the entire time, was still cranking hard when I sold the car. I can't imagine that your 2.7 would be much different.
