Need help: problems with front fenders

    Hello members,
We try to install / adjust new front fenders purchased from RD.
As you can see in the following photo, there is a gap of about 10mm between the front hood and the horn grille.
The front hood is the original one and is "perfect"

The gap is also present between the mounting brackets of the fender (A) and the bumper (B)

Have you encountered this problem before?
    What do you advise us?
    Thanks for your help.

ivan fuller is the hella fog expert her...havent seen him posting here for quite some time.
regarding the poor fit of the grille/fender. thats a typical phenomenon with the swbs. the grille is typically the malefactor.
i dont know the RD fenders(pretty sure they don`t produce them) and how much they contribute to the situation on your car.

and `64 did not have perfect gaps(not even good gaps) anyways....perfect gaps on a 64 IMHO is a no go(i know one has to be a very established personality when restoring something to imperfection) ... the tabs where the grilles bolt on are very often handmade extensions to the bucket...added in order to get grill somehow line up with the hood
i`m sure i`v posted pictures here already. but will do so again once i find time to.

From that angle it looks like the top of the hood(towards windscreen) needs to come up. Are the hood seals installed? You also need the buffer on top of the horn grill. Once all of that is installed you can start fitting it, between tweaking the tab in the fender and making various thickness spacers you should be able to get there. Also note, there are several sizes of 4 horn grills. For absolute perfection you will probably end up stripping those and building up with brazing for the final fit and finish.

    Thank you Franz and NTW.
    We will do that.
Franz: I did a lot of research to find the pictures you published on this subject but I couldn't find them. I hope you can upload them again soon.

Structure shape changes during 1964 production (cont.)

    Hello,
Here are 2 pictures of the 300090 I took last week to complete the post #222 about the structure shape changes during 1964 production.
This pictures confirm that the boomerang-shaped part does not exist on the 300090.

    Guide tube for cable control

    Hello members,
    The 300090 does not have the guide tube (#10 / 901 502 181 41 on PET)
I don't see a hole under the dashboard to pass this tube in the front trunk.
    Any help appreciated.
