That information / conclusion drawn is not correct / complete. Cars could be ordered w/o radio but w/ antennae. So no blaupunkt remark, but an antennae could be factory installed on drivers side.

Yes, this is in line with 356 practices where many cars were ordered with an antenna but without a radio

    Thank you all,
The Kardex (for 911) indicates ordered options like radio or webasto.
Does the kardex indicates an antenna option when no radio was ordered?
    Thanks,
    Philippe

The steering rack of the 300700 shows Feb 1965 assembly and a cast of 20/64 (though the 4 is a bit obscured). Next to the casting date there is a 'K' in a circle and a bigger font '2'. Not sure what that would be.Name: IMG_20200103_155003517.jpg

#301111 has the polymer type with a number on it.

Hopefully not diverting too far from the tread's intent, but pictures clearly show a steering damper. A look at the Pet seems to indicate use through '68 models. I think I have read that the some owners indicate no damper in '67 especially as to 911S. Anybody have the definitive answer on this? Then back to this very interesting thread. Really enjoying.

However my 700 version has a small console for the number, which I do not see on the 1964 versions. Will check the cast tomorrow. Later cars had a second mount where my console is (red circle).

Later cars have 2 mounts and I assumed this would be to use the rack for both LH and RH steered cars (?) Discussion was not concluded I think and I have little evidence on when this changed. At least before 1379, as this car has 2 mounts.
I posted this feature in the 'special 64 features on 65 cars' thread, post 316.
How do you explain how my car has a steering box casting date 52/64, has two damper mounts, and assembled 7/65 and fitted to a RHD car despatched 17 Sept 65.
Boom boom, there are always anomalies!!
