    Hello,
This morning I spoke with our metal guy about this closing plate.
Without this plate water and mud will go into the outer rocker panel.that`s correct
Our question is therefore the following: what should be put in place of the plate? nothing... thats the price of authenticity
but it is not that much mud that will accumulate her since there is still the fender attach plate that protects this area...and a wash every now and then will keep it clean .nothing to be afraid of....

    Thanks
    Philippe

    Correct shift knob???

    Hello members,
I recently found this shift knob.
It is mushroom shaped with a dimpled center.
    It is threaded.
BUT what do you think about the "molding parting line" (red arrow) ?
Is this the right model for my car?
    Thank you,
    Philippe

    Asymmetrical flat rear latch panel

    Hello members,
Here is a photo of the 300090 panel.
    We think it is original.
The sides are not the same.
    Anyone have an explanation?
I remember reading something about this on the forum but can't find the thread.
    Thank you,
    Philippe

thats the proof it is original ...they are almost all asymmetrical / out of center even on later swb...and if i remember correctly i`v seen this on LWB as well.
for welding in a rear latch panel this way i have been criticized by a customer i restored a swb for ...after i showed him several fotos of original cars+ a 66 912 i had in house he was happy again...
it was a bit harder to convince my `64 custy that the fit of the front horn grilles/indicators/front hood was far from perfect when they left the factory..

    Same as this one

There has been some consistency - looks to be the same on 300 149.

my data shows that some cars between VIN 1000-1200 still had a plastic molded piece, so well into 2Q 1965. However not very clear as some earlier cars also have the fibre glass piece

    Drip Trays

Which of the two type of plastic drip trays are we talking of?

The thickly molded gray plastic - which has a part number molded into it?

Or the prototype piece which is a vacuum formed (single thickness) black plastic? ( It is a thicker gauge plastic - similar to the under battery plastic tray construction). It is the one that split on the edge of it's metal supporting plate.

    Happy New Year to everyone.
