    MFI cold start hose clamps

    I'd like to get the cold start system on my '72 MFI working again. The thermo time switch is working, but the wire to the cold start solenoid is disconnected. Before I reconnect it though, I'd like to get some expert opinion on the small hoses that go to the cold start injectors on the throttle bodies. On my car the hoses are new, but they are connected to the connectors on the throttle bodies without hose clamps. Is this OK? I would imagine that this could cause fuel sipping out.

    No clamps "shown" on the "T Sockets" which are barbed.

    You should have crimp clamps like these on my car (arrow). Cad plated. Also to be 100% correct, it should be a fabric braided hose, but your rubber ones are functionally fine of course.
    It's a high pressure system even though there is some pressure drop across that cold start solenoid. You do not want those coming off and spraying fuel over a hot engine on a semi-warm restart.

    I believe the original manufacturer of the clamps is Oetiker. There is a special tool to close them, but you can use a pair of end nip pliers "in a pinch".

    While the PET diagram doesn’t show them I wouldn’t be averse to an Oetiker clamp.
    Somehow I ended up owning every size they make all the way up to about 22 mm.
    I have all the tools as well. Three styles. Doh!

    Thanks everyone, I’m going to get these and some fabric braided hose while I’m at it. I really DON’T want these hoses to come off. As a matter of fact, I found one of them dangling loose... good thing the system is disconnected now.

    Chuck, in your photo I see a T connector (left in picture) that distributes fuel equally to cylinder banks 3-2-1 and 6-5-4. I assume this is the correct routing? On my car, the routing is 3-2-1-over the fan housing-4-5-6.

    Be gentle when you pull or push the hoses onto the plastic tees. They are NLA and can be brittle. The link I posted above also has metal replacement versions, which are not a bad idea, if not "proper:
