    Putting Recaros in G-body...help!

After searching numerous threads here and elsewhere I ask now for any help I can get...

I am trying to put some vintage Recaros into my 88 911. The seats are marked Idealsitze L/LX/LS 84. I will post some pictures of what I have.

The facory Porsche seats have a welded on bracket or extension where the female seat belt receiver bolts up. These sliders/brackets have no such provision. I have a set of Brey Krause R-9005 brackets but they interfere with the seat. I was wondering if the seat belt could be attached at the hinge point of the Recaro seat (inside red circle) but that does not appear to be intended for that purpose.

So who has "the recipe" to make this work??

have you tried just swapping the sliders, with the seat belt mounts onto the recaro's? I've done this with several SC's and it solves a lot of problems, not sure about your later car, however.

I looked at that...my factory seats are of the powered variety so there are 2 motors and extra brackets welded onto the sliders. There is also a large vertical tab on each slider where the seat bolts to the sliders. I wonder if sliders from non-powered late G-body seats might work??

I have a set of those, shall I send them your way? They do NOT have a bracket for seat belts.

many of those cars had seat belt receivers mounted to the tunnel

those seats are stunning, BTW, nice find!

Thank you for offering! I may take you up on that if I don't find another option. I would have to get some tabs fabbed and welded onto them.

Yeah...the seats are really cool but they are trying my patience...

on my 72, it;'s a whole different story, but I had some brackets made up as adapters between the sliders and the factory mounting locations, and as such, had some angles brackets built to allow fastening of both the lower mounting location for the retracting belt on the outboard side, as well as the seat-belt receiver between the seats.

I am hoping to avoid having to fab something...I can't image there isn't an off-the-shelf solution.

I have almost identical seats, they are very supportive and comfortable. The seat belt bracket is mounted to the floor above the seat mount at the rear. Excuse the dog hair.

    David,

Are your seats bolted directly to the floor without sliders?

No, I have sliders, seat moves the same as it always did. You might want to contact Stefan at classicarseats.com
I think the later cars had different mounting base.
