    antenna bracket on the a-pillar

i do have a 6/67 912 (karmann) that was ordered without a radio--- but it does have the bracket weldet on the a-pillar(both sides)that what i assume is for mounting the antenna.(is it for the antenna ??)

a 1/67 911(reutter) i have here does not have it.
my question is if there have been cars with the radio option that did not have this bracket.
and if was there several antenna Versions with different mounting points?

    thanks

I've never seen this, maybe for an electric antenna?

along with the car(in a shoe box) came a Hirschmann antenna that appears to be the one the car left the factory... i just placed the antenna in this area...it is to short to reach the bracket...the total lenght of the antenna is 28cm..(11inch).

electric antennas are usually on the passenger side i think.

i also just had a 2nd look at the bracket....the vehicle has definetly left the factory with that thing....first paint and the spot welding proof it.

all the other swbs here in my shop dont have it

I DON'T know what it is for, but it reminds me of the reinforcement welded in 356 pillars for the big rubber flap door stop.
