    Switch lettering on a 73

I've got a 73 E that on the left side dash face where the light switch, hazard switch and ignition switch reside....there is lettering above the light switch that says "LIGHTS."
The small lettering placard fastens to the dash face through a couple of small holes above the switch with 2 small pins on the back of the placard.

Seeing as there are a corresponding set of holes above the hazard switch, I assumed there would be a small placard that says "HAZARD" as well.
With some searching, I found a pic on the internet that confirmed that this did exist.
I've circled it in yellow in the pic below.

Guess the 52 dollar question is...did these come on most of the cars? and are these available?

I had the same scenario and asked the same question a month ago. Lights switch holes and hazard holes, but only a Lights label installed. The vinyl over that panel was original. So for whatever reason (probably country related? Mine was a USA model), both Lights and Hazard labels were not always installed. Mine was a Feb '73 S.

    Seems you are right.
I can find a few of the LIGHTS placards, but none of the HAZARD placards....they must have been rare.

Seems like a USA specific thing. Maybe a DOT requirement like the seat belt buzzers etc. ROW 73 cars don't seem to have these.

The Hazard placards makes no sense because the USA button is marked Hazard. It may not have been in other countries. The lights placard does because there is no marking on the lights. Ergonomics wasn't Porsche's forté at the time.

That's true...the red button and the placard would both say HAZARD. A double negative? Guess the Euro hazard switches/buttons didn't say hazard.

I just put my newly reupholstered dash back together without the HAZARD placard...life goes on. HA
