    McLaren At Colnbrook

For a while McLaren were at Colnbrook Berkshire near LHR. Atmospheric photo. Transporter and Minis.

After Cooper's in Surbiton and flats near there and the extremely modest beginnings in New Malden Surrey shared shed without even a proper floor and the local house share this Colnbrook setup below must've felt like luxury:

A small jigsaw piece in the history of UK becoming the leading cluster for world motorsport.

I've spent time in Colnbrook advising RAC MSA ( now Motorsport UK in Motorsport House just around the corner) the governing body of UK motorsport ; suffice to say Colnbrook with constant LHR plane movements and it's industrial estates is not the most glamorous of locations. Having said that the historic Ostrich Pub dating back to 1106AD, good for a pint.

Those early-ish days the McLaren set up was lot more modest than the current flashy but in my experience overly sterile MTC near Woking, a few junctions along the M25 back into Surrey:

Went via their other Woking Surrey location of 80s and 90s
