    1971 911T Research - Need help

Hi all, I've found a 911T that might present itself as an opportunity for purchase. I am planning on approaching the owner of the property that the vehicle is located at on Monday.

I was able to approach the car, get under it, take some pictures and acquire the vin.

    VIN# 9111101975

The car has a Hagerty Sticker on it, a PCA club sticker on it, Last pennsylvania inspection was 2007, and the registration stickers on the plate indicate it was last registered with the PA DMV in 2010. I live in Pa, and this car was last registered in Pa.

Can any of you point me to any resources that I can utilize to find some history of this car based on the VIN? Do forums like this (or others - registry, pca, etc.) have vehicles and their VINS recorded with old members?

Just want to be armed before I head over on monday.

    Thanks!

    Len

It looks like there is a story there. Odd to also see the newer Porsche has sat a long time as well. Good luck with your possible purchase!

Also not listed in my personal database. So it has not been readily visible on the web for a long time. Body condition is very important with these cars. Check under carpets and rear seat cushions for dampness. The rear window tends to leak and rots out the rear parcel shelf and set areas; so check the glass seals for cracks and shrinkage.

hire a title clerk registered in your state to research the vehicle id number, that is a start. Porsche will be NO HELP!!!!!!
