1969 LeMans - which factory werks cars were these?

The GTS that won the Marathon wasn’t sold till later. Or probably used in between.
I also read that they were resource constrained that year.

They of course would want to run LWB cars too.

So it does seem they would have been the GTS’s (maybe they would take off a few trick aluminum bits)

Years ago I sold some factory twin plug heads to Armondo. They were from a GTS that had been modified to 2.3 liters. I back dated the motor to a 2 liter as it was built that way. If Armondo knows where those heads are and can check the dates it is possible they were on the car in June of 1969. Obviously a problem for a 2 ltr car running at Le Mans.

From memory I think these cars were even omitted from the 3 hour preliminaries in April. I recall reading "did not show " One of those mystery's.

Did you have to enter the preliminaries to enter the race? If “did not show” there did that carry through to the big race? April would have made it even closer to the Marathon date.

Though 1969 LeMans was run much later than usual?

It is my understanding that the cars needed to do the preliminaries.

Maybe they were kicked out because they were running MFi if indeed they were 69 LWB cars.?
