    1969-only ventilation/heating system cover help

We are finally truly putting the finishing touches on my '69T restoration after about 5 years. Current replacement trunk carpet sets have female snaps for attachment, but there are no male snaps or holes for snap brackets on the 1969-only frunk ventilation/heating system cover (91155106704; part 33 below) where one would think the top edge of the carpet should be anchored. How did Porsche anchor the carpet at the top end of the trunk in 1969? Or is there no anchor at the top edge (which seems a bit cheapish)?

    Thanks,

    Rich

I think there were leather straps used somehow. No details, just something I remember reading.

On the early cars, the carpet hooks into brackets on the chassis in the trunk under the cowl like those shown in the photo.

My 69 912 has straps as shown above. I found this pic here by doing a search for "carpet straps"

Phil's post and a bit of Googling yielded the answer. There is a 1969-specific front trunk carpet set that I have to buy instead of the one I have. @#@@&@$*^!!!!!!!!! Phil, how does it actually attach to the blower cover at the end towards the dash? Can you post a photo?

1969 pictures. By the way, I thought we had eradicated the term "frunk."

EJ's picture shows how to attach. Mine stays in place without inserting the tab, so have not been doing it after 1 original broke off.
