    whereabouts unknown

    edit per march 2023:

sold by Mr.Mezger to an omnibus manufacturer, who had a slight accident at a race track.

This had been Walter Vetter junior from „Walter Vetter Karosserie- und Fahrzeugbau“ in Fellbach near Stuttgart.

Mr. Vetter senior had been in coach building business since 1922 and was well known and connected within the industry. In 1932 he also codesigned and built the streamlined body of a racing car based on the Mercedes-Benz SSK (jokingly called “cucumber” because of its shape), which, driven by Manfred von Brauchitsch, won the international AVUS race that year.

Mr. Walter Vetter junior, who had been in the company of his father since 1956, purchased #13326 and sold it after the accident to Hahn Automobile in Fellbach, in partial exchange for a new 911. The engine was kept by Mr. Vetter junior as a replacement unit for his racing aspirations.
    https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...=hahn+fellbach

With this new car he is listed in some races, participating in the GT class -

Mr. Ruf senior bought the "stripped chassis" from Hahn as a birthday present for his son in 1969.
Chassis 13326 hence was equipped with a 616 engine.

Restored by Mr. Ruf junior beginning in 2019.
Presented to public in March 2023

    Thank you Haul!

I asked my good friend O.M. who the kid right to "Quickblau" is. And he thinks it is the son of Ferdinand Piech.
They played some times together, when the fathers met on weekends.

My question is: are there pictures of the 51.Autosalon in Paris from october 1964?
That was the event where the Peugeot managers realized that Porsches new car was the type "901"...?

    all the best from Berlin,
    Andreas

    Andreas,

thank you for this additional info..please do ask O.M. if he has any hints on the left over of Quickblau, if there are more pics of the car in his archive and else…curious minds do need to know.

Concerning 13325 and Paris: Peugeot managers surely noticed the "type 901" type already in october 1963, but well, it took them nearly one year to react...

    Speed-Star,

Does your friend OM remember anything about the car with license plate LB-MD 917?

    Name: LB-MD 917 Hans Mezger.jpg
Views: 986
Size: 98.7 KB

It is captioned in the article as "Oliver Mezger in front of his father’s wine-red 911 S", but I believe that was a different car owned by Mezger, long wheel base prototype 320-013, from 1 October 1969 until 6 June 1972.

    Thanks,
    Eric
