    Fire Supression for 77 mag case

    Has anyone here ever put in some kind of fire suppression system for a mag case? I know you need a class D extinguisher (sodium chloride), which generally comes in 30 lb bottles.
    OR
    should I just keep my fingers crossed? I do have fuel lines checked frequently.

    Mostly curiousity...

    I remember reading about this; however, it’s only for Class A B C. Magnesium is class D. Thank you anyway

    Your magnesium case will not spontaneously ignite. It first must be heated by another source such as a fuel or contents fire which can be extinguished using a Class A B C agent. If a magnesium housing is actually burning you will have already lost a substantial part of the automobile to a more conventional fire so you might just as well step back and not get hurt. Class D fire extinguishers are heavy, expensive, and rarely around when you need one. In my 40 years in the fire service I have used a Class D only once.
